Meet your trainers

Guy HusherGuy Husher

I became a trainer because I enjoyed the training sessions myself, so I wanted to be able to teach other students in a relaxed environment in the same way I was.

Kat ReesKat Rees

I would like to be a TRAKS trainer because it would be a great opportunity to help people develop the skills they feel need improving in a fun and enjoyable way. It is also a great opportunity to meet new people and further develop my own skills in communication and presenting to people.

Kassie CarryKassie Carry

It s a brilliant opportunity not only to develop my own skills but the skills of others. It’s one of the best things I have done so far at uni. The amount of jobs opportunities that I’ve gained since I have put in on my CV is huge – I’m really proud to be a traks trainer.

John OmizuJohn Omizu

Building a successful career is something I have always thought of, and I see improving on those career skills as worthwhile. Being a trainee in the last session of TRAKS helped me a lot. I actually encourage everyone to embrace the program and take part in it.

Farah MughalFarah Mughal

The reason I wanted to become a TRAKS trainer was primarily so that I could improve my own skills as well as helping others to enhance their skills for a better future. I also thought that the reward of a recognised certificate for the training would appeal to employers, hoping this would come across as highly impressive and beneficial.

I decided to be a TRAKS trainer because I believe the best investment anyone could make in this world today is in people. The saying goes, 'Give a man a fish and he would eat for a day but teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.' For me, training social and personal development skills is a dream come true as I am a great believer in people. It is also a great way for me to be involved with the student union, giving me the chance to meet and interact with many people; and not to mention how great it will look on my CV, especially now that employers are looking way past just your degree!!

Richard ScarlettRichard Scarlett

"I decided to become a TRAKS trainer to help other students. I've had a lot of practice on my degree at all the aspects of the TRAKS courses and being a trainer gives me an opportunity to pass on that knowledge on to other students. I also think it’s a good way to help enhance others peoples skills and confidence".

Alex FulkerAlex Fulker

I became a TRAKs trainer in order to not only better myself but to pass on my knowledge to other students. I want to become a teacher once I graduate and not only does it add to my CV for my application but also enables me to get an idea of what teaching is like.

Abigail - Ruth NeumanAbigail - Ruth Neuman

The reason why I want to be a TRACKS trainer is because I love personal development. These are the skills that you don’t learn in a classroom but are expected when you try to find work. I like to extend my personal skills and therefore want to teach people what I myself learned and still about to learn. It’s also a great opportunity to meet people that want as well as me succeed in life.

Jinene CastellanoJinene Castellano

I’d like to become a TRAKS trainer because it is an excellent opportunity to improve my confidence in talking to groups of people; in turn this should improve my presentation skills which will be useful for both my university course and my career. Also, becoming a TRAKS trainer will allow me to meet many new and interesting people with different backgrounds and cultures.

Rebecca HealyRebecca Healy

Learning and Development is something I live by. I am always finding a way to challenge myself or am achieving something I haven't before. This role will be no exception as it will be the first time I have volunteered. Volunteering has been one of my aims for some time now but I wanted to be sure whichever organisation/team I do this for that they will get the best out of my time and skills...I look no further!

Sam GraceGrace Yeobah

I loved the experience I gained from TRAKS, this is a good opportunity for me to share my ideas gained from the programm with others. I do believe it will enhance my presentation and communication skills effectively.

Dawn HamletDawn Hamlet

As the Vice president of the students union I thought that getting involved with TRAKS training would be an excellent way to involve myself with the student body and help others in developing their ‘extra’ curricular skills at uni! The students union provides incredible skills training and development through TRAKS and I can’t wait until we get stuck in training new students!!

Laura YeomanLaura Yeoman

I became a trainer to enhance my CV -improve on my own existing skills -heard many good comments about it by students and members of the SU -I felt that it would all be a lot of fun, meeting new people and the program would be interesting -i wanted to get more involved with the uni and Especially that SU.

Adam FlintAdam Flint

I will be a tracks trainer because I want to put something back into the union that has given me so much also this gives me more opportunities as one of your sabbaticals to speak to as many of students as possible. I can’t wait to meet and train with the great diverse community that we have here at UHSU and TRAKS is a great step in the right direction for students and UHSU. This is a great opportunity for me to enhance my people skills and see this place through different eyes!

James BelmontJames Belmont

I decided to become a TRAKS Trainer to help and assist students increase there knowledge and skills for communications, negotiation, awareness, presentations, meetings and more, also becoming a TRAKS Trainer this is one step to my career goal as a ICT Teacher! Also looks good on a CV which is a bonus for employers.
