Student Rep Champions

Who are they? What are the benefits?

A Student Rep Champion will be someone with strong leadership skills and a keen interest in student representation:

  • One to one mentoring with Full-time member staff and one of the five UHSU officers
  • The opportunity for active participation in your students’ union (UHSU)
  • Recognition and reward

How to become a Student Rep Champion?

24 Course Reps will be elected by fellow Student reps, at the Student Reps Induction Evening.  They will represent their faculty at Student Reps Executive Board and at Student Council.

Main Duties

Their main task will be to collect feedback and opinions from other Student Reps, which they will report to UHSU on a regular basis.

The Student Reps Executive Board is a consultative committee, composed of the Student Rep Champions.

Its aims are:

  • To create awareness of local issues
  • To respond to the needs of Course Reps at faculty level
  • To sit on Student Council
  • To arrange one meeting each term (formal and informal) with other reps from their own faculty (they will receive full support to arrange these). These will be used to report to and advise the UHSU officers and UH about major issues related to the individual faculties and any needs for campaigns. To support UHSU officers in their representative role.
