Student Rep Trainers Wanted! deadline: Wed 12th May

May 7th, 2010

Do you want to gain an extra qualification alongside your degree? Have you got experience as a Student Rep? Do you want to help new REPS and further build up on your experience?

If so why not become a Student Rep trainer next academic year and boost your CV.

For further info on STUDENT REPS and STUDENT REP training please go to www.uhsu.co.uk/reps

What does a STUDENT REP trainer do?

The STUDENT REP training team delivers the STUDENT REP sessions in pairs throughout the year. The standard STUDENT REP sessions have already been written. All the resources (including a room and a register) will be provided, so all you need to do is deliver the session and spread the word about STUDENT REP training.

Why become a STUDENT REP trainer?

Gain experience in planning, writing and delivering training sessions
Improve skills now to help you now and in the future
Stand out from the crowd in the increasingly competitive employment market
Gain an extra certificate
Gain confidence in speaking in public
Learn about ideas that you can talk about in interviews
Meet other people who could help you in the future
Teach others about topics

How much of your time will it take up?

STUDENT REP sessions are 2.5/3 hours long and as a trainer we would hope that you could train at least 1 or 2 sessions every two weeks. You should also attend any support meetings organised by the Student’s’ Union in order to get the most out of the experience.

Do I need any experience?

Not at all! You don’t even need to have previously attended TRAKS sessions (although having some sessions can be helpful). We are just looking for enthusiastic students with an interest in the personal development of themselves and others.

If you are interested please send an e-mail to reps@uhsu.co.uk for an application form or you can download it from www.uhsu.co.uk ; deadline is extended to Wed. 12th May .
