Welcome to the University of Hertfordshire! As a student at UH, you are automatically a member of the University of Hertfordshire Students’ Union (UHSU) and we are here to represent and support students throughout their entire time here. As we represent more than 24,000 students, when the Union puts its weight behind an issue, the University notices.

Going to University is about so much more than just getting your degree, it’s about your entire experience here: academic, social, personal, career… and that’s where your Students’ Union comes in.

We’re not just about student bars (although yes, we have a few of those, including the new ones in The Forum). We have a range of services available to enhance your student experience: dozens of clubs and societies to cater for just every interest out there.

UHSU is your Union, democratically run for you and all UH students. We are an affiliated member of the National Union of Students, the largest student-led organisation in the world, representing the interests of over 5 million students around the U.K.

Becoming a member
Becoming a member of UHSU is easy - you already are one!  All UH students are automatically members of the Union, and we're here to represent your needs.  As a member, you can use our social facilities, join a society, participate in any of our training programmes, stand for Student Council or even stand for election as a Sabbatical Officer.
